Use Your
Wheelchair's On-Board Power
Use your
wheelchair's 24 volt power-supply to run other devices--a laptop
computer, an augmentative communication device, a telephone, or
environmental controls.
This dual channel power-converter plugs into the recharge socket on
most common wheelchairs, and provides two DC voltage outputs that can
be independently adjusted anywhere from 5 to 24 Volts. We can custom
adjust the cables and voltages to match your requirements.
Each channel can handle up to 2.0 amps or 35 Watts, with a combined
total not more than 50 Watts or 4.0 amps.
Most laptops will require a large enough draw to use both channels.

The Power X-tender is very well suited for situations where replacing,
recharging or disposing of batteries is a problem. It can also provide
a full-day power source for many devices that don't hold a long enough
charge. The drawback is that it runs off of the wheelchair batteries
and therefore, reduces your drive time/distance. If this is a concern,
you might want to consider one of our Power-Packs.
